FIRST GOT HOLD OF A LISA GERMANO CD AT MY LOCAL CAR BOOT SALE. SMALL HEADS, FOR ABOUT 50p, AND I'VE BEEN HOOKED TO THOSE DARN BREATHY VOCALS EVER SINCE.I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO CATCH HER LIVE ,UPSTAIRS AT THE GARAGE IN LONDON, MID OCT' AND I COULDN'T BELEIVE HOW MUCH HER MUSIC JUST CONNECTS (IN THE SAME WAY AS NICK DRAKE, MBV, BUCKLEY ETC..). AND THEN MEETING HER AFTER THE SHOW, A NIGHT TO REMEMBER TO BE SURE. I'LL NEVER LISTEN TO SIMPLE MINDS IN THE SAME WAY AGAIN, THAT'S FOR SURE!

First experienced Lisa Germano when a neighbor turned my wife and I on to "Happiness". Saw her soon after in a tiny little bar here in Portland, and was lucky enough to buy a copy of "....moon palace" that night, which can be dificult to find. Can't say enough about her music, except it's a crime she gets little or no airplay on radio (even our local, so called alternative stations). Looking forward to hearing her latest "Slide". She's incredible...

First time I heard Lisa Germano was on pirate radio in Dublin: "The Dresses Song". Been listening to her ever since. I saw her for the first time in Stockholm last year, she played with Giant Sand -oops, OP8 I mean, in the studio. Great stuff!

Bur I hope one day she will come to good old Germany for i know a lot of people here who adore her music like i do. I do not know any musician who lives the music like Lisa does. Thanks for a lot of wonderful hours. So, no more words for there are not enough words to talk about her musik.

I discovered Lisa Germano's music only a couple of days ago. A happy event. I really like her music, for now I only know Geek the girl and Excerpts from a love circus, two fantastic albums. Because I seem to be a little obsessed by her (music) at this moment I started to search the internet for a Lisa Germano page. Well, one search through ultimate band list was enough, I came to this page. A fine one I think. Thanx for putting the lyrics on paper (Lisa doesn't do this) and the concert pictures....nice. Only one thing I miss (or I haven't found it yet), and that is a line-up of her band with pictures and stuff. I'm going to subscribe to the mailing list in a minute. Lisa Germano, welcome to my music collection, you've reached a place next to my number one favorite -Nico-, that's the biggest compliment I van give!

Hey there. I recently discovered this page and am thrilled to find many a fine folk talking about such a wonderful artist. I have been listening to Lisa for about four years now and she remains to be one of my absolute favorites. Yesterday I discovered her new album, "Slide". I can't say enough...need some time. Lisa is one of the few who can express gut-wrenching life experiences and weave them into gorgeous ballads and silly told-you-so love songs. She sings from the very bottom of the heart. She makes me cry and laugh unlike any other music I have heard. I love love love her and am glad there is a place like this to cherish and celebrate her work. Thanks for sharing your space. -jm

Excellent page! Lisa sends shivers up and down my spine. What a beautiful woman, and what a rare talent. She sings like the girl next door would if she had talent ;-) Does anyone else see a misty mountain morning and an old country house when you hear "Dark Irie?" I SAW JOHN COUGAR IN CONCERT ON MTV YEARS AGO AND LISA WAS THERE. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT ALBUM THAT WAS OR IF THE CONCERT IS AVAILABLE ON VIDEO? PLEASE???

Thanks for the good work with Lisa Germano's inormation page. I have got Happiness, Geek the Girl and Excerpts from a love circus and I am listening to them whenever I find the opportunity. However I have not managed to find "On the way down from the moon palace" here in Iceland or on the record stores on the web. Anyone have any idea where I can get it? Also it would be great to know about Lisa's touring schedule for 1998. It would be great if she had time to visit Iceland (home of Bjork and GusGus)

I´ve seen Lisa live three times. The last time with 0P 8. She had cut her hair short and she was beautiful. She is a perfect mix between a whole lot of woman and young girl. But above all of course I like her music.

cool site. I wrote a song dedicated both to Lisa germano and Lou Reed. Here are the lyrics: Her scarf hangs on her belly As she walks on her bare feet nobody recognizes her, but she knows every one of us that's how she is, and I like it. Yeah, I likeit very much In a time where man connot live at a slow pace she hangs around quietly slowly seeking her way Living the life she always wanted without even thinking of it "Don't believe, just live" Lisa said.

The Darkest Night of All is one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard. I loved the album happiness, and though I'm not much on anything else, Lisa is a great and talented artist. That song serves as background music for the memory of the night my wonderful father passed away. It's amazing how lyrics can change in meaning and create such feeleing for different situations. I know my dad is listning to music in heaven...and The Darkest Night of All is on his playlist.

"Geek the Girl" is probably one of the most fascinating and disturbing albums I've ever heard. When I listen to it, I always feel like I'm entering the mind of a schizophrenic character. "A Psychopath" may be the scariest song I know of, so simple and yet so powerful..Blissful...

In response to the article, "Mellencamp has to die", I guess she shouldn't have slept with him. By doing so she just broke up his marriage. I agree she wasn't alone in the affair. When I think of Lisa Germano, I think of the woman who broke up John's marriage.

Lisa and OP8 have been in Hamburg last week. It was a wonderful concert. The band created a very special atmosphere at the Logo club. The audience loved her and Howe and they gave autographs to some die-hard fans. Joey and John sold their "Calexico-CD" and even performed one (maybe two) songs from this album.

Lisa is incredible! I've been a fan of her music for years- back to the days when she released her first album on her own little label called Major Bill Records! I ordered a copy and she autographed it even though I didn't request it! I saw her in concert here last september and chatted with her before the show. She's quite amazing, we discovered our parents are from the same immediate area in the south of Italy! I was blown away when we parted and she left by saying "ciao paesano !" Mamma mia!!!

But I have a question :
When LG played here in Norway last year, I'm wondering about if some of her other band-members were from the group Morphine (they also attended the festival), and a friend of mine thought he recognised one member of Morphine ? Just curious.

I just checked out your webpage dedicated to Lisa Germano -- very cool.
Please forgive me for being forward but I would very much like to introduce
you to Eristikos.

Eristikos (that's where I work) is an indie record label based in Phoenix Arizona. The first and main project signed here was Bare Wire. Bare Wire is actually Simone Grey, who writes and sings all her own stuff. We like to call it ambient blues -- we don't know what else to call it. It's some incredibly depressing but incredibly beautiful stuff.

Based on the fact that you seem to have really great taste in music, I thought Bare Wire might be up your alley. Stop by and test the waters. Our address is http://www.getnet.com/~eristik. Let me know what you think.
